Hannah Sauber

Director of Applied Behavior Analysis

Hannah has worked in ABA for 13 years. She initially planned to be an English teacher and received her bachelor’s degree in English Literature from Cal Poly Pomona. With over 10 years of experience in childcare and recreation, she felt working in an educational setting would fill the missing link to prepare her for a teaching career. She began working as a special education paraprofessional in the public schools, a role that quickly shifted to providing ABA based instructional and behavioral support for autistic preschool and school age children. Over her 3 years in the school system, she learned how to successfully support autistic students in their transition from special to general education classrooms, how to make instruction fun and engaging, and how to help children learn safe and effective ways to meet their needs.

As many do, she fell in love with the field and pursued her M.S. in ABA at Spalding university, where she gained fieldwork experience in clinic, home, hospital, and community settings. After graduating and becoming a BCBA, she joined the MDS team in 2015. Since then, she has enjoyed expanding her experience with early intervention and increasing wellbeing for clients who engage in dangerous distress-indicating behaviors.

She also loved learning about all the creative ways an ABA clinic can structure client programming and staff support, which motivated her to become the assistant clinical director, clinical director, and eventually director of ABA. She is supremely excited about the future of the ABA department as we improve our ability to teach clients and their families about self-advocacy, accommodating different learning needs, and appreciating neurodiverse perspectives.

She maintains memberships with Hoosier Association for Behavior Analysis and the Association for Professional Behavior Analysts. In her free time, she enjoys living life in the golden age of television and food trucks, traveling, and growing her life list of birds!
