Stacey Carlson, CTRS
Director of Recreational Therapy Services

Stacey Carlson has been with Meaningful Day Services since 2015, working as a full time Recreational Therapist for many years before transitioning into her current leadership role as Director of Recreational Therapy Services.

She earned her degree in Recreational Therapy from Douglas College in 2010 and completed her internship at the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago. Stacey gained experience with adaptive programming as a recreation programmer at Bradford Woods. She has worked with individuals across the lifespan, including as a recreation programmer supporting older adults with dementia and Alzheimer’s disease.

Stacey is a goal-driven recreational therapist who is passionate about using individuals’ interests to support growth, independence, and quality of life. In her role as Director, she remains passionate about the benefits of recreational therapy and enjoys bringing creativity into program development. She is dedicated to educating and advocating for the profession, mentoring therapists, supporting students and interns, and partnering with clients and families to help individuals thrive.

Outside of work, she enjoys being outdoors, trying new activities and spending time with her family.
