Meaningful Day Services Newsletter
What is Adult Day Services?
Adult Day Services (ADS) is a program that supports adults as they strive
to live engaged and independent lives. Our daily activities are designed to
build independent living skills and encourage exploration of interests, such as
music, gardening, literacy and budgeting, arts and crafts, and developing
social and vocational skills. Clients also take part in community outings to
explore new places and practice skills in real-world settings.
With small staff-to-client ratios and supportive staffing, ADS provides individualized care that is tailored to each person’s goals. Joining an Adult Day
Center can bring structure to your week, while opening opportunities to connect
with others, be part of the greater community, and learn something new.
ADS is open to adults 18 and older, with flexible services offered Monday
through Friday, 9:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m. For most clients, this service is funded
through the Medicaid Waiver program.
Growth and confidence shine when clients have the right opportunities and support!
A Day at Brownsburg Adult Day Services
Clients and staff at the Brownsburg ADS center have been busy practicing budgeting and cooking skills! From creating a grocery list for French toast to cracking eggs, ADS clients are gaining confidence and independence through hands-on learning. Cooking at ADS helps clients practice valuable everyday skills.
Learning, Growing, Connecting
At ADS, every day brings new opportunities for clients to practice skills, try new
things, and build positive habits. Whether it’s learning to cook, improving communication, or exploring creative projects, our clients are supported in ways that foster growth and independence. Along the way, they connect with peers and staff.
Creative Expressions
At ADS, arts and crafts are more than just fun—they offer clients a chance to express themselves and explore new mediums and techniques. This summer was filled with excitement, from a lively talent show and dance parties to a variety of arts and crafts projects that let creativity flow. From brushstrokes to beats—music and art come together to inspire confidence and joy.
A Community in Action
ADS clients love volunteering and finding ways to give back. Recently, clients have been helping out at Gleaners Food Bank in Indianapolis, where they lend a hand sorting and preparing food for families in need. Our clients remind us
that everyone can make a difference, and we’re grateful for community partners who welcome helping hands and create opportunities for all of us to feel proud of supporting our communities. Everyone has something valuable to contribute
to our community.
Celebrating Achievements
At ADS, we believe every accomplishment deserves recognition—big or small! Whether mastering a new skill, reaching a personal goal, or trying something new, our team will celebrate progress through encouragement and
recognition.
Every ribbon, certificate, or smile shared represents more than a task completed—it’s a reminder that effort and perseverance lead to success. At ADS, we’re proud to walk alongside our clients as they reach milestones and discover their potential.
Encouragement and empowerment turn progress into celebration. We’re proud of the big and small successes our clients achieve every day. At ADS, every day is an opportunity to learn, grow, and celebrate achievements.
Behind the Scenes
It takes many dedicated people to make each day run smoothly at ADS. Behind the scenes, members of a client’s interdisciplinary team—including behavior consultants, skill builders, music therapists, and case managers—
work together with our staff to support growth and success.
Keeping a department running smoothly requires planning,
collaboration, and a lot of teamwork. We’re grateful for the commitment and effort our staff put in every day to ensure ADS continues to provide a safe, engaging, and supportive environment for all clients. Teamwork behind the scenes keeps ADS running strong.
Our Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) make every day meaningful at Adult Day Services!
Our Incredible Direct Support Professionals
Each year in September, we celebrate our incredible Direct Support Professionals (DSPs)! At ADS, our DSP staff go above and beyond to ensure every client has a meaningful day. They individualize care, support growth, and create opportunities for clients to connect, learn, and succeed.
