About Counseling
Counseling helps individuals to build skills, process issues and work toward meeting the goals each client has established.

Treatment Modality: MDS uses multiple modalities to meet each client’s individual needs, including cognitive behavioral therapy, strengths-based therapy, motivational interviewing, psychotherapy and other modalities as needed.

Population Served: MDS provides counseling to individual and families of all ages and levels of need. MDS provides counseling to clients with and without developmental disabilities.

Settings: Counseling takes place through telehealth across the state or in office at the Brownsburg, IN office.

Hours of Service: Primarily Monday – Friday, 8am-7pm. We also provide an on-call counselor for client emergencies. This counselor is available 24 hours a day/7 day a week.

Frequency of Service: Typically, one hour a week but can be more or less frequent depending on client need and funding available through their insurance provider.

Payer Sources: MDS counselors are in Network with most private insurance and Medicaid. We also offer private pay services.

Fees: Vary based on the funding source. Private pay rate is $150/hour.

Referral Sources: We receive referrals from online searches, social media, insurance companies, Psychology today, word of mouth, friends and family, doctor’s offices, schools, case managers and other team members.

Credentialing of Staff: All counselors must have a Master’s or Doctoral degree in social work, psychology, or counseling. Many of our counselors are licensed with an LSW, LCSW, LMHC or LMFT.
